FLEURY'S STINT ENDS ON SOUR NOTE WITH 1-0 LOSS IN SYRACUSE

groupSYRACUSE, NY - Marc-Andre Fleury turned in another outstanding performance on Saturday night, stopping 17 of 18 shots he faced, as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins dropped a 1-0 decision to the Syracuse Crunch at the Onondaga County War Memorial.

The loss dropped the Pens record to 31-21-0-3 on the season, leaving the club in third place in the East Division, one point behind the Hershey Bears. The Penguins will travel to Chocolatetown to take on their division rivals on Sunday afternoon.

Syracuse, meanwhile, moved above the .500 mark and now sits at 27-26-2-4 on the year, fourth place in the North Division.

Former Penguin Zenon Konopka tallied the only goal of th evening, scoring with just more than six minutes to play to give the Crunch their first win in six tries against the Penguins this season.

Fleury, who has been in Wilkes-Barre on a conditioning assignments since February 10, will head back to Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon, according to reports in Pittsburgh newspapers. He recorded a record of 3-2-0 with a 1.42 goals against average and .950 save percentage in five games during his rehab stint.

Both of Fleury's losses while in the AHL came in 1-0 games, and he did not allow more than two goals in any of his starts with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
