NHL NETWORK TO BROADCAST ALL GAMES OF CALDER CUP FINALS, 5/30/08
The American Hockey League announced today that the entire 2008 Calder Cup Finals series between the Chicago Wolves and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will now be televised live on NHL Network in the United States and Canada. (Story)
 
PENGUINS DROP GAME ONE TO WOLVES, 5/29/08
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton fell behind by a 3-0 count in the first period, then clawed back into the game only to eventually fall by a 5-4 score to the Chicago Wolves in Game One of the 2008 Calder Cup Finals. (Story)

BRENT SENDS FORMER TEAMMATES HOME, PENS TO THE FINALS, 5/24/08
Tim Brent scored with 30.7 seconds left in regulation, giving the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 3-2 win over the Pirates at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.  With the win, the Penguins earned their third trip to the Calder Cup Finals, where they will meet the Chicago Wolves for the American Hockey League championship. PENGUINS ADVANCE TO CALDER CUP FINALS, 5/24/08
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will take on the Chicago Wolves in the 2008 Calder Cup Finals, it was determined on Saturday night.  Wilkes-Barre/Scranton posted a 3-2 win against the Portland Pirates in Game Seven of the Eastern Conference Finals to claim the Richard F. COMEBACK KIDS STRIKE AGAIN, FORCE GAME SEVEN, 5/23/08
Connor James and Chris Minard scored two goals apiece, with James netting the game-winning goal 20 seconds into overtime to give Wilkes-Barre/Scranton an improbable 4-3 come-from-behind victory against the Portland Pirates in Game Six of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night.  The victory forces a decisive Game Seven, which will be played Saturday night at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. Ben Lovejoy’s power play goal early in the third period proved to be the winner, as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins posted a 4-3 victory against the Portland Pirates in Game Four of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday night.  The win evened the series at two games apiece, with Game Five slated for Wednesday night in Maine. The Portland Pirates tallied three times in the second period en route to a 5-2 victory against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in Game Three of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday evening.  The win gives Portland a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series, with Game Four scheduled for Tuesday night at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Dave Gove scored with less than seven minutes to play, and John Curry made 19 saves for his first career playoff shutout, as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins posted a 2-0 win against the Portland Pirates in Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday night.  Game Two takes place at the Wachovia Arena on Thursday night at 7:05pm. PENS POST 3-1 WIN, VANQUISH PHANTOMS, 5/9/08
Chris Minard netted his third game-winning goal of the postseason and John Curry turned aside 22 shots to post a 3-1 win in Game Five of the East Division Finals Friday night.  The win allowed the Penguins to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2004.  Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will face off with the Portland Pirates, who defeated the Providence Bruins, four games to two, in the Atlantic Division Finals. PENGUINS TO TAKE ON PORTLAND IN EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS, 5/9/08
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins secured a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night, by defeating the Philadelphia Phantoms by a score of 3-1 at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.  With the win, the Penguins claimed the East Division playoff crown in five games over their intrastate rivals. PENGUINS ONE WIN AWAY FROM TRIP TO EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS, 5/7/08
The Penguins tied a team record with five goals in the second period, and skated out of Philadelphia with a 8-4 win against the Phantoms in Game Four of the East Division Finals on Wednesday night.  Wilkes-Barre/Scranton now holds a three games to one lead in the best of seven series, and can earn a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals with a win in Game Five this Friday at home. PENGUINS JUMP OUT TO LEAD, HOLD ON TO BEAT PHANTOMS 3-2, 5/5/08
Alain Nasreddine picked up the first goal of the night as the Penguins held on to post a 3-2 win Monday night in Philadelphia.  Wilkes-Barre/Scranton now leads the best-of-seven series two games to one, with Game Four slated for Wednesday night in Philadelphia.It was a dominating Penguins performance for the first 40 minutes, during which time the visitors outscored the Phantoms, 3-0, and out-shot their hosts, 24-7.
